Sarah Jessica Parker Stuns In Ethereal Iris Van Herpen Gown At New York City Ballet Fall Fashion Gala

Sarah Jessica Parker turned heads at Wednesday night’s New York City Ballet Fall Fashion Gala, arriving in a jaw-dropping ensemble that perfectly blended drama and elegance. The actress chose a striking black-and-white Iris Van Herpen gown, featuring an ivory mini dress under a sculptural black mesh overlay that cascaded to the floor. A daring front slit revealed her black open-toe pumps, adding a touch of modern sophistication to the ethereal design.

The gown’s standout feature was its wing-shaped sleeves, sprouting gracefully from Parker’s shoulders, creating a dramatic silhouette as she held hands with husband Matthew Broderick while making her entrance. Her makeup was equally refined, with darkly lined eyes, pearly pink cheeks, and lips, while her hair was parted in the center and slicked back into a simple yet elegant bun.

The ensemble, a sculptural black lattice design, had previously made its debut on the runway during Iris Van Herpen’s Autumn/Winter 2025 Couture Show in July, making Parker’s appearance at the gala a stylish nod to the designer’s latest collection.

Sarah Jessica Parker has long been a dedicated supporter of the New York City Ballet. She has served as Vice Chair on the Board of Directors since 2012, the same year she proposed the idea of a Fall Fashion Gala for the company. Her presence at the event was especially fitting, as the evening’s premiere ballet, Forseeable Future, was choreographed by Jamar Roberts with music by Arca and featured costumes designed by Van Herpen.

The gala also showcased two additional performances: Gianna Reisen’s Composer’s Holiday, with costumes by Virgil Abloh, and William Forsythe’s Herman Schmerman pas de deux, featuring designs by Gianni Versace.

Iris Van Herpen’s creations have long attracted celebrity attention, with stars such as Julia Fox, Nicole Ari Parker, and Helena Christensen frequently choosing her avant-garde designs for high-profile events. Parker’s choice continues this tradition of celebrating wearable art in a theatrical and highly personal way.

Throughout her career, from Sex and the City to And Just Like That, Sarah Jessica Parker has consistently elevated fashion to an art form, embracing playfulness, whimsy, and daring silhouettes. On the red carpet, at the Met Gala, or at society events like the Fall Fashion Gala, she remains a definitive style icon proof that fashion can be both bold and deeply expressive.
