Ariana Biermann is embracing honesty when it comes to her beauty marks and the story behind their removal is more surprising than fans might expect. The Next Gen NYC star recently revealed that her mom, Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Kim Zolciak, 47, had freckles forcibly removed when Ariana was just 14.
In an October 8 Instagram video, 22-year-old Ariana Biermann shared her shock over the incident while showing off her full glam. “My mom sent me to get a facial,” she explained. “And my friend was like, ‘Girl, where are your freckles going?’ I’m like, ‘What are you talking about?’ The facialist goes, ‘Your mom told me that you didn’t like them and you wanted me to remove them with the facial. I’ve been lasering them off.’”
Ariana Biermann said she was blindsided by the revelation, as she had never asked for her freckles to be removed. “I was like, ‘What?! I love my freckles,’” she admitted. The experience even shaped her current makeup routine: “I have some on one side of my face more than the other, but still, it’s just not a lot. So now, I put them on.”
Reflecting on the moment, Ariana Biermann added that when she told Kim about her reaction over the phone, her mom “started laughing.” Ariana Biermann playfully called her mom “a jackass” in the post, while also expressing love for her: “Now I add [freckles] on to my face because I don’t have them anymore. I didn’t want them removed. I miss my freckles. Mom, I love you [but that’s] insane.” The influencer even peppered the post with laughing emojis, underscoring the humorous side of the memory.
This isn’t the first time Ariana has opened up about her layered relationship with her mother. In June, the Adored Angels founder shared on Next Gen NYC that Kim had taken money Ariana earned from brand deals as a teen during her parents’ lengthy divorce from Kroy Biermann. “I got my first brand deal when I was 14,” Ariana Biermann said. “I was doing three posts a week… I made quite a bit of money. But unfortunately, my parents took my money. I can’t say exactly what they used it on, because I just found out that it was gone two years ago.”
Kim later clarified the situation during the July 31 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. “Ariana’s money was spent on bills, to be honest,” she said. “I was left holding the bag for the family. The money I borrowed from Ariana, I paid her back for the bills and stuff. And as far as what she’s made? I don’t have the spreadsheets, but she will be [paid back].”
Ariana’s candor about her freckles and finances highlights the complicated, yet enduring, bond between mother and daughter. While the teen years may have brought some disagreements and surprises, the duo’s interactions continue to make headlines and keep fans intrigued.
